‘Future proofing’ shipping

Wärtsilä has been focusing on ‘future proofing’ shipping with its first ever Maritime Future Summit taking place at SMM 2016.
At the event, Willie Wagen, Wärtsilä’s director of market innovation presented the group's digital vision for the future, highlighting the trends and latest developments in the industry.
Meanwhile, Henrik Dahl, managing director, Eniram and Mikko Tepponen, director, digitalisation, looked at the evolution of Wärtsilä digital services and gave a taste of things to come.
They gave an overview of the Wärtsilä digital services today and in the coming months ahead now that the Eniram portfolio is integrated as part of the group's portfolio.
The New Wärtsilä Sea-Master System was the focus of a talk by Matthew Bignell, sales development manager, seals and bearings.
This system provides condition based monitoring for vessels of all types helping to transform the management of tail shaft optimisation using digital monitoring.
