Three-Year JetSpares Contract from Braathens Technical

Mon, 21 January 2013

The contract has an option to run for a fourth year and will cover continued Avro RJ operations by Malmö Aviation until the delivery of new-generation replacement aircraft.

Braathens Technical/Malmö Aviation is the longest-standing JetSpares customer of BAE Systems, having first entered the programme in 1999. Since then the JetSpares agreement has been renewed on many occasions and this latest renewal was won against competition from three other companies.

The JetSpares customised rotable spares support rate-per-flying-hour agreement is designed to allow an airline to concentrate on its flight operations while BAE Systems Regional Aircraft takes care of spares inventory, logistics and repairs. The priority is to keep the airline’s business running smoothly by providing a first-class support service. In excess of 600 separate components are covered under the Braathens Technical contract.

John Stevens, Head of Customer Support for BAE Systems Regional Aircraft said today;”We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Braathens Technical and Malmö Aviation which has contributed to their operation having the best Avro RJ fleet dispatch reliability in the world, which is important given the highly intensive business-oriented services they operate.”

Mr Per Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Braathens Technical, the MRO behind Malmö Aviation, added: “Given the successful relationship throughout the years I feel confident having secured a top quality support operation going until the arrival of the new Bombardier C-series – needed to ensure reliable and proven support service”.

Braathens Technical AB is an aircraft maintenance organization (MRO) – part of Braathens Aviation Group.
